How does Hampton adapt in the future to ensure that one of its greatest assets – the waterfront – doesn’t become its greatest threat? Share your thoughts and ideas in an interactive discussion led by Waggoner & Ball Architects who were instrumental in the Post-Hurricane Katrina Resiliency Planning in New Orleans. More meetings will be scheduled for a later date, and information will be provided as soon as it is available.

The lecture is part of the “ODU Presents” series that features multidisciplinary speakers that support the colleges’ research initiatives and community outreach efforts. “ODU Presents” is free and open to the public.

This workshop will introduce participants to the new VFRIS, a web-based mapping tool that communities, realtors, developers, and homeowners can use to understand a property’s flood risk. There will be an overview of VFRIS, a tour of the tool, and time for questions and answers. To register, please contact Kenneth Somerset with the City of Poquoson at Kenneth.Somerset@poquoson-va.gov or 757-868-3035.

The CRS Webinar Series provides training opportunities to communities that are not yet participating in the Community Rating System (CRS) or local government staff that are new to the CRS, and to local government staff with experience in the CRS.
