This exhibit highlights images of coastal life through the eyes of native Virginia Beach artists Ellen Sinclair and Bobbi Gunn, who draw from the composition and colors of waterways and beaches for inspiration. Meet the artists at the opening reception. Ellen Sinclair paints primarily in oil and acrylic, seeking to capture the rhythm between the natural and the manmade. Sinclair’s works have been featured across the state in shows and galleries including the Virginia Beach Boardwalk Art Show, Beach Gallery, and Stravitz Gallery, among others (ellensinclair.com).

With the Lynnhaven River in her backyard, Bobbi Gunn has spent over 40 years studying and creating art that reflects her love of the natural world, working in oil, pastel and gouache. Her art has been featured in numerous shows, galleries and in many private collections across Virginia (bobbigunn.com).

Reception: Sept. 8, 6 – 8 p.m., in the Atrium. For more information, please call (757) 368-4100 or visit odu.edu/vabeach.

Exhibit runs from Sept.1st-22nd (11AM-5PM)
