On July 1, the Commonwealth Center for Recurrent Flooding Resiliency officially began its work.
The collaboration between Old Dominion University, the Virginia Institute of Marine Science and the College of William & Mary focuses on working with localities to provide research and information to best plan for flooding and inform citizens.
“This is a local issue that cuts across party lines and is really about keeping our citizens dry and getting to work and getting to school,” said Emily E. Steinhilber, assistant director of coastal resilience research at Old Dominion University.
