Ocean Currents Lecture: Understanding Sea Level Rise in Coastal Delaware
Chris Sommerfield, University of Delaware professor of geological oceanography, shares his perspective on sea-level change in coastal Delaware, the causes and consequences.
The lecture will consist of a brief geologic history of sea-level variability, followed by the historical record (mid-1800s to present) of sea-level rise in Delaware, detailing the global, regional, and local causes.
The lecture series is free and open to the public. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis. This lecture is appropriate for all age groups, including K-12 audiences.
