Join in to celebrate Earth Day and the beauty of our planet! Dig into sustainable practices that reduce our carbon footprint through hands-on activities, explore climate change and resiliency on the six-foot Science on a Sphere® globe and step into the Dome for a 3 pm showing of Cosmic Climate Cookbook to learn about the three basic ingredients needed for life on a planet. The Virginia Section of the American Chemical Society (VA ACS) will also be on site from 12 – 4 pm offering activities about bioluminescence, water cycles, environmental science and much more, as part of Chemists Celebrate Earth Week. The Museum will accept old electronics to be properly recycled, so bring in your old and broken devices to be turned into recycling treasure!
